Mt. St. Helens Washington

Before and after the eruption. I thought I would add this just so you could see what it was like before.

Known for blowing her top in a big way in May of 1980 left the area devastated and destroyed. Mt. St. Helens is most notorious for its major 1980 eruption, the deadliest and most economically destructive volcanic event in the history of the United States.[2]Fifty-seven people were killed; 250 homes, 47 bridges, 15 miles (24 km) of railways, and 185 miles (298 km) of the highway were destroyed.

We had gone up to Tacoma Saturday and spent the night. Took a short detour on the way back to Roseburg by way of Mt. S. Helens. Memorable and touching, to say the least knowing the devastation that plagued the area when she blew in 1980. A must see if you are ever in the area.

I must say the government has done a great job of replanting and it is well on its way to recovery.
