We left Portland around 5pm and arrived in Tacoma about 9pm. Got a hotel room for the night to rest up and spend the next day with my son and his girlfriend. 🙂 Oh YAY!! Finally get to see my kid after 2 years almost 3. It’s been far too long I know that much. We went to Point Defiance Park in Tacoma first. I got a few pictures of the of point and the jelly fish.
After that stop we drove Across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and went up to Bremerton WA and rode the ferry across the water to Seattle. Yes it was COLD!! The wind was bone chilling too.
It was a great day trip and great visiting and seeing my kiddos. I can’t wait to go back in few weeks. 🙂 Heart is happy.
We dropped the kids off that afternoon and headed on our way down highway 101. We stopped in Astoria OR for the night this time. We drove several hours in the wind and rain that night, so I didn’t get any pictures. I had to wait until daylight the next day.
The next stop on our way home was Seaside OR. What a great little tourist town. I just love this place. There is a little shop close to the beach front that sells the best fudge!
As we continued on our journey we ran across the small town of Tillamook OR. Home of the Tillamook Cheese Factory. If you have never had Tillamook cheese you don’t know what you’re missing! It is the best! We did the little self-guided tour of the factory and had some of the best ice cream in the world there. Tillamook Ice Cream! mmm mmm good. You have to try it! What a great weekend trip we had. A lot of miles and a lot of seat time in the car, but another adventure under our belts.
